NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE A TEACH IN!!!!!
From CPC:
Greetings:
Just wanted to send out a reminder about tomorrow's general meeting of the Foreclosure Working Group. We'll still be meeting at 4 p.m. at the CPC office at 1029 Sante Fe (perhaps we'll have the meeting time/day on the agenda, however).
We will also be having a teach-in on the foreclosure process by a lawyer with expertise in the field. This will take place at 5 p.m. and will be taped by Gary Crabtree of Occupy Denver's Film and Video Committee for future use. This might be a good time/opportunity to invite interested folks to join the working group.
Hope this finds all of you well!
Thanks,
Chad
From Saadia:
As we discussed in the MoveOn Denver Metro Council meeting last Sunday, there is a nationwide foreclosure crisis. Fraudulent foreclosure--the theft of peoples' homes, the destruction of families, entire neighborhoods, and human lives, is rampant. MoveOn is becoming active nationally in anti-foreclosure work. In the Denver area, we're combining our efforts with those of others by actively engaging in the Foreclosure Working Group.
Activists from several groups in addition MoveOn are involved, too. The Foreclosure Working Group meets every second week, and the next meeting is this Saturday, February 25, from 4-6 PM. We'll meet at at the headquarters of the Colorado Progressive Coalition, 1029 Santa Fe Drive. That's about two blocks north of Colorado Democratic Party headquarters.
There are also four subgroups in the FWG--Legal, Education, Outreach, and Direct Action. MoveOn members may decide to work with one of these subgroups as well.
So, you're invited to attend and see what's going on in the Denver area to fight the foreclosure epidemic.
