Affirmative Action Dialogue Session – Organized by the YWCA and Michele S. Moses, Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder

About: Affirmative action is a hot button issue with strong supporters and strong opponents. This is your chance to learn more about this issue and engage in thoughtful and meaningful dialogue. The session is
organized in conjunction with a research project to determine whether
forums and dialogues impact the way participants think about issues, in
particular affirmative action.

Building Allies: Interrupting Bias-Motivated Behaviors - a unique training opportunity to gain insight on being an ally
This training, sponsored by Boulder Community United and hosted by New Vista High School,
will be facilitated by the Anti-Defamation League's trained
facilitators. Open to high school students and adults, the training
will draw on participants' own experiences of witnessing, experiencing
and, at times, perpetrating bias-motivated acts to identify what being
an ally means. Through hands-on activities, participants will explore
best practices and enhance skills to stand up and speak out against
prejudice in this community.
When: October 29th, 6 – 9 pm
